Plymouth rocks.

Ever-Changing Rock Sculptures

I drove by the rocks on Sunday. The two wedding figures have been transformed into Pilgrims, and a large wooden tail has been added to the back of the giant bird.

Ever-Changing Rock Sculptures

In addition to the bride and groom rock sculpture, there is now a large birdlike sculpture (possibly a pterodactyl) guarding a nest with three large eggs. There is also a stone frog nearby.

Ever-Changing Rock Sculpture

The display in front of the berry farm is now (June 2015) a bride and groom. Traffic is pretty sparse so you can just pull off to the side of the road to get a photo.

Iwo Jima Becomes Nativity Scene

I was driving through Mutual a few weeks ago and noticed that the Iwo Jima rock sculpture had been replaced. Based on the three figures under the arch, I think this new one is a nativity scene, especially since it is only a few months after Christmas. I'm thinking that maybe the rocks are regularly rearranged throughout the year. There is also a stone frog formation about 30 feet west of the arch.

Soldiers made of Rocks - Iwo Jima Tribute

Just west of Mutual, at the Champaign Berry Farm on State Route 29, there is a pile of rocks that has been assembled to look like a group of soldiers holding an American flag. While not an exact replica, it kind of reminded me of the famous Iwo Jima Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.
