Muffler Man - Indian Chief

I live around the corner from here. The mascot is long gone.

Muffler Man.

Muffler Man - Indian Chief

Located on the north side of the football field at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium, the Muffler Man representing the mascot of Waxahachie High School, the Indians, is a classic lantern-jaw muffler man with an added Native American headdress, warpaint in the colors of the school, and an upraised "How" arm. The mascot is guaranteed to remain until 2023, but petitions in the school and community have been made to change or remove both the school mascot and the Muffler Man.

Indian Chief

The "Chief" is a dramatic presence at a home game in September 2021, photographed at sunset by Travis Smith.

[Patty Smith Smith, 10/29/2021]

A unique Muffler Men hybrid, the Chief wears a Native American headdress and a golf shirt.

Big Chief

The Big Chief doesn't seem to be at the Waxahachie High football field anymore. Could not find him anywhere on 20 May 2021.

[Gordon, 05/20/2021]

The statue can be hard to see, standing at the north end of the stadium on the far side of the field from the nearest road. It also doesn't help visibility that the entire stadium complex is usually fenced-off.
