Pumpkin - Gone

The pumpkin is now gone. It looks as if the house where it was located has been sold, and the new owners have cleaned up the area.

Indian Teepees, Buffalo, Pumpkin

I live in Vandalia and the teepees and buffalo are in St. Elmo, Illinois, at Driftstone Pueblo, and can be seen from the interstate at the St. Elmo exit. The pumpkin is north of Vandalia on rt 51 on the south edge of Ramsey.

Indian Teepees, Buffalo, Pumpkin

On U.S. 51, there's an Indian souvenir shop near Vandalia, featuring a couple of tepees and a giant concrete buffalo ... and two Indian blankets for $8, if you're looking for a cheap souvenir. It's at I-55 and 51. Up the road from that, I believe somewhere between Vandalia and Pana is a giant concrete pumpkin. Not spectacular, but might as well have a look if you're up that way.

Directions:: Driftstone Pueblo. Teepee and Buffalo are at I-70 exit 76. Big Pumpkin was several miles west and north on US Hwy 51.
