Big-headed 16-foot-tall retro statue with a cheery smile welcomed all to a family-owned candy store in Silver Creek for 50 years. The store closed in Sep. 2022, and Dolly moved to a new home in Dunkirk in July 2023.

Dolly and a horse wave to everyone going by. They sell yummy house-made chocolates and other candies. One of the local favorites is something called sponge candy. They can only make it when the weather cooperates with low humidity. (usually during the fall). That's a pretty tall order when you're near Lake Erie.

We asked the cashier in the store about her and she said her name was Dolly Dimples and that she had been there for as long as she could remember.
