Wakita, Oklahoma: Twister (The Movie) Museum
See the battered "Dorothy I" from the movie and other cinematic debris. Small, but a favorite stop for storm chasers and fans of the 1996 film.

The movie "Twister" was filmed primarily in Wakita, OK (it's mentioned in the movie as the town where "Aunt Meg" lives). My parents visited it, as my mom is a huge tornado buff. There is a small museum that is kept locked (there is a couple that maintains the museum that will come and unlock it for you). The museum contains a lot of film memorabilia, including pictures of Bill Paxton with the locals (the cast and crew spent time w/the local people during the filming as they were there a while), one of the "Dorothy" machines and some other memorabillia. The couple and people of this very small town enjoy telling the stories of the movie that put them on the map.
