I didn't go in the lighthouse, but the outside was gorgeous enough, that's for sure.

Contrary to its name, the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is the furthest point east in the United States and where the first rays of sunshine hit our country each morning!
The 49-foot-tall lighthouse sits upon a tall cliff overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The 541 acres surrounding the lighthouse are now a Maine State Park that offers several hiking trails including the Coastal Trail, a two-mile trek along the cliffs down to the water. The light keeper's house has been turned into a visitors center and gift shop, where you can buy a certificate signed by the volunteer at the front desk certifying that you visited the most eastern piece of land in the U.S.
The lighthouse is a popular gathering place at sunrise and has benches lined up for those waiting for the sun to arrive. Don't miss the fun photo ops in the visitors center. They provide goofy reminders of where you were!
