Alfred Hitchcock immortalized San Francisco's Empire Hotel in his 1958 psychological thriller Vertigo. The Nob Hill locale was later renamed the York Hotel, but now makes a more visible tourism connection under its most recent moniker: the Hotel Vertigo.
