North Salem, New York: Balanced Rock
Unlike most rock attractions, this one conveniently balanced itself next to a normal road, and has a sign and parking area. How did this 60-ton pink granite boulder end up balanced atop five much smaller rocks? Geologists say it was a glacier; others say it was hauled into place by Bronze Age mariners.
