This west Oakland district is a hodgepodge of warehouses and windowless buildings. As drivers curve on 24th Street towards Mandela Parkway, a nicely nightmarish mural appears. It's a darkly colorful, crowded scene of monsters, multi-eyed creatures, a decapitated warrior carrying his own head, an evil gnome, and other horrors.
Artists Ernest Doty, Skinner and Griffin One painted this work (likely commissioned by Buchanan Auto Electric, if judged by the the prominence of the business name).
