Brooklyn, New York: Tribute to New York City's Sewer Alligator
An alligator with human hands emerges from a manhole cover to devour a man in a suit with a bag of money for a head. Made of bronze, sculpted by Tom Otterness. In 1935 an alligator crawled out of a manhole in Harlem and was promptly beaten to death.

Pretty comical and was a little difficult to find. The pedestrian walkway is actually a split median pedestrian street. It's right in front of MetroTech Center, #2.
