There's a 55-foot-tall Ferris wheel in front of Jackson Steel north of Hendersonville. It was never actually a functioning carnival ride, but was instead built as advertisement for Bildon Steel, a steel fabricating company. Instead of passenger cars, the wheel carries flat, painted panels that advertised Bildon's various services.
When Jackson Steel took over the property in 2007 they talked about taking the Ferris wheel down, but so far it's still there (although it no longer spins).
