Family burial vault under a bridge. Totally worth it! Interesting Houston history.
[Sarah Danford, 03/18/2018]
The Donnellan Family crypt dates back to the first burial in the 1850s. Timothy Donnellan, one of Houston's earliest settlers, was its first inhabitant. Vault was believed to have held three people before their remains were moved to Glenwood Cemetery.
The closest you can get to the vault right now is on top of the Franklin Street Bridge at the end of the Chase Bank parking lot. A pedestrian bridge is under construction and upon completion bikers, runners and walkers will be able to pass by every day.
