Castle Rock is easy to see from Interstate I-25 when driving between Denver and Colorado Springs. There is no scenic pull-off on the highway. Looming over the town, I think it looks very much like a castle (not the Disney Fantasyland style of castle) or a rock fortress. It reminded me of the clifftop strongholds along the Rhine River, or the Moorish castles in Spain.
