Castle Rock

Castle Rock is easy to see from Interstate I-25 when driving between Denver and Colorado Springs. There is no scenic pull-off on the highway. Looming over the town, I think it looks very much like a castle (not the Disney Fantasyland style of castle) or a rock fortress. It reminded me of the clifftop strongholds along the Rhine River, or the Moorish castles in Spain.

Old town of Castle Rock should not be missed!

Castle Rock

I live here. Cute Main Street, small town feel. The star on top of Castle Rock is only lit from right before Christmas until after the National Western Stock Show (held in January). [F, 03/18/2015]

Castle Rock

Giant stone mesa worth visiting, public park with another giant star.

[Scott Duval, 12/01/2014]

It's a stretch of the imagination that this resembles a castle, but they named the town after it. The star and American flag are on top.
