There are ties between the shape of the pretzel and marriage. Very interesting tour!

On this entertaining and educational tour, you learn the meaning of each part of a pretzel twist and the different machines used through the years and the Sturgis family history. You leave with a small bag but can buy large bags of many varieties and soft pretzels made on the premises. It was a great RA find.
[EC, 10/07/2022]While you still get a lesson in pretzel twisting, they no longer bake the pretzels while you watch. Visitors get a small bag of prepackaged pretzels. We still enjoyed the tour quite a bit.

Founded in 1861, the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America. Help us celebrate our 150th anniversary this year! Tour the original bakery, get a hands-on lesson in pretzel twisting, and taste the results of 150 years of pretzel baking heritage. Hands on, learn how to roll a pretzel and get a certificate for a souvenir. Fee is $3
