Just updating you on my 15-foot-high hydrant. It was removed in September 2024 for refurbishing. The hydrant will be reinstalled at a new public dog park, at the corner of Rancho and Oakey Streets, in early 2026, and will have a commemorative plaque detailing its history.
[Cathy Brooks, 07/16/2025]The Hydrant is gone. The park is still there, but no hydrant. Don't know what has become of it, but we're standing in the spot where it used to be and it's not there.
[Dmac, 10/11/2024]The hydrant was the symbol of the Hydrant Club, a dog park. When the park closed, the hydrant was removed.

The World's Largest Working Fire Hydrant is next to a cool looking dog park.
[Betty, 04/17/2019]
Outside of a dog park in downtown Las Vegas is a very large, bright yellow, fire hydrant -- 15 feet tall. The kind lady inside the park told us to pull down the lever. Wham Bam! Water shoots out and wet dogs we were! It is apparently the world's largest working fire hydrant.
[Cheryl Ann Rondinelli, 12/14/2014]The dog park is the private (gated) Hydrant Club, which also has doggy daycare and boarding.
