Hot Dog Man Statue
The Hot Dog statue is now in front of Asa's Place, 135 Main St., Winsted, CT. Asa Flint, the owner of both places, prides himself in creating interesting food options that change frequently. It was pleasant chatting with him while having our lunch. We enjoyed savory stuffed waffles on our visit and will be back to try the hot dogs made with his custom baked toasted rolls.

The hot dog statue has had a makeover and grown a new arm.
[Benjamin Lee, 09/18/2018]The restored limb is welcome, but we miss the old wiener's gagging tongue, which has been painted over.
One-Armed Hot Dog
A smiling one-armed hot dog in a bun greets visitors to the Winsted Diner. The diner itself is worth seeing because it is very small, probably one of the smallest diners in Connecticut, having a capacity of probably 20 diners at a time. It is located in the west end of downtown. I hear the food is very good but because they are only open until early afternoon, it was closed when I stopped by.
