Tommy's Joynt
Tommy's Joynt had been on this city corner since 1947, dispensing meat pile sandwiches to hungry tourists and locals (Slogan: "Where Turkey is King."). Two floors of rooms with crowded seating are decorated with hof-brau bric a brac, promotional beer plates, a dusty cabinet of tonics, and little men on little horses. There's a murky portrait of San Francisco's colorful Emperor Norton (our waitress didn't know what we were talking about; the bartender pointed it out in a niche above a video monitor.).
