James Dean's grave is right next to the one lane gravel road...easy to find at the top of the small hill.

Lots of lipstick kisses adorn James Dean's headstone. And the town of Fairmount is still able to make money on his short life.

This is the town where James Dean was raised after his mother died. The town is friendly and a really interesting place to visit. They provided me with a map of points-of-interest: James Dean's high school (being torn down), his grave, and the farm where he was raised.

Follow the signs to James Dean grave site. It's right on the lane.
[Shanna, 05/03/2014]Fairmount is the hometown of James Dean...and the "James Dean Gallery" houses the world's largest collection of Dean memorabilia and archives dealing with the short life and career of JD (at least that's what they say!). They've got his high school yearbooks, a life mask from Warner's Brothers, all sort of novelty items that were produced featuring his likeness (plates, mugs, busts, puzzles, gum cards...the list goes on). The gallery has a $3.75 admission fee (it's open every day from 10 am to 6 pm, except Thanksgiving, Xmas, and New Year's Day!)
The town of Fairmount attracts many visitors seeking out Dean's gravesite, the old Fairmount High School, as well as the Fairmount Historical Museum, which also has a collection of James Dean memorabilia.
