Bucyrus, Kansas: The Sexting Statue
A statue of a disjointed, gold-colored nude woman, with no head, snapping a selfie with an already-out-of-date digital camera. Officially titled "Accept and Reject," it was dubbed "The Sexting Statue" in 2012 by critics who were horrified that it was displayed outdoors.

[Lizzy, 10/19/2016]At the Overland Park Arboretum, you will find a vast array of sunflowers and prairie grass native to the rolling flint hills of South Kansas. However, the waterfalls and gardens are not what draws people to this mystical place. In the woods behind the blooming prairie, you will find the Sexting Statue.
The Sexting Statue was put up in 2013 by Yu Chang, a Chinese man who wanted to teach kids the dangers of sexting. However when a devoutly religious mother, Joanne Hughes, found out, she was furious. She contacted a religious organization in Wichita, so they packed into their church vans and drove over 200 miles to Johnson County. In June of 2013, Joanne paired up with Phil Cosby of the American Family Association to have the statue removed. However, a judge told them that they had no right to ask for the statues removal, claiming that it was not obscene.
Looks like the sexting statue is here to stay!
