One roadside giant that used to scare me, somewhat, was a giant black cat, perched atop a Katz Drug Store, at Central and Hillside in East Wichita, KS. The cat was taken down when the store became a Skaggs Drug Store, and that, in turn, has become an Osco's Drug Store, last time I was there. I have heard that Katz Drugs was headquartered in Kansas City, MO. Does anyone know how many of these giant black cats they made to perch above their stores? I'm not sure every store had one.
