Lucas, Kansas: World's Largest Souvenir Travel Plate
Built in 2007 out of an old satellite dish by artist Erika Nelson. The colorful plate serves as a Welcome sign, and is covered with images of all the other oddball things you can see in Lucas.

A hailstorm damaged the plate in April 2015; it looked pretty ragged when we saw it a year later. Artist Erika Nelson, who created the plate, began restoring and repainting it in 2017. She finished a year later. Now it looks great again!
