Scrap Metal Space Capsule
The top of the space capsule is gone now. Just the Earth and Ft. Pierce, FL remain.
[Kim, 06/06/2018]Space Capsule Made of Scrap Metal
A space capsule made from old signs, beer cans, and license plates is attached to a small Earth globe at a waterfront park in Fort Pierce. It reminds me of a whirligig, but it didn't change position while I was there, so it may be stationary. Below it are letters spelling Fort Pierce, again made from old license plates, signs, and other bits of scrap metal.
[signmanjoe, 02/01/2015]Not sure if this sculpture is supposed to evoke a space capsule or just a glittery wind sock. Its official title is "Recycle Sculpture," and it was built on the spot by artist Pat Cochran during the 2009 Art of Living Green Festival.
