Quick stop on our way north. It is right in front of the doors so easy access for all. We left a kindness rock for the next visitor.

The Welcome Center Torpedo was a great stop. Easy to find, really cool and easy to overlook, so keep your eyes peeled. There is a plaque explaining the story of how it got there. The people in the welcome center are nice. Another good photo op, just a couple feet away, is the "Welcome to Georgia" sign.
[Zach, 11/20/2017]The rest stop is currently closed! No estimate of reopen date.

At the northbound 1-95 Georgia Welcome Center there is a nice, very large, renovated WW I or WW ll torpedo (I'm not sure which war). It's painted bright green with a gold tip. The Welcome Center is next to a submarine base, which explains why it is there.
