The Windows of History dioramas are all but gone. There's hardly anything there since the Macy's next to it closed and the mall has gone dramatically downhill. I got thrown out by mall security, which is something that always happens in dying malls.

The "Windows of History" diorama displays are complete with battle scenes, George Washington, Ben Franklin, and the native Lenni-Lenape. I was surprised to come across these while visiting the Neshaminy Mall, which is supposedly one of the first malls in the U.S. The dioramas were (formerly) animatronic and motion sensitive. There is an effort underway to have them refurnished. They were commissioned by the the store that originally occupied the spot, Strawbridge and Clothier.
[Michael Garson, 02/14/2015]The dioramas date to the opening of the Mall in 1967. Their original name was "Freedom Wall."

The dioramas debuted in 1967. That's a long -- some might say history-worthy -- lifespan for anything in a mall.
