Bonnie Palacios Hometown Sign

A billboard announces that Benavides, Texas, is the home of "6-Time World Champion Baton Twirler Bonnie Palacios."

[Rick Kincaid, 03/13/2015]

Bonnie ruled the twirling world from 1980 to 1987 before an ankle injury ended her career. A Family Dollar store threatened to destroy the billboard in 2013, but the town rallied to save it.
