Hotel's Local History Museum - Speakeasy

The hotel is in the process of opening the speakeasy that was built during Prohibition. We were given a quick tour of the renovations and told all about the history and materials involved. They should have it open by August 2020.

Quirky Local History Museum

In the basement of the Failingers Hotel Gunter is a very quirky museum dedicated to local history, but containing anything old or of interest to the owners. There's a mock coal mine, a cock fighting room, old jail cells, Titanic memorabilia, taxidermy (and random stuffed animals), etc. The museum is self-guided, and don't be surprised if you have to turn on the lights yourself.
