The Titanic display, cock fighting, and animal displays appear to be gone. The bathroom jail cell remains and other displays (curated with another local museum) are in place now.
[Jody High, 05/28/2021]The hotel is in the process of opening the speakeasy that was built during Prohibition. We were given a quick tour of the renovations and told all about the history and materials involved. They should have it open by August 2020.
[GigiP, 07/17/2020]In the basement of the Failingers Hotel Gunter is a very quirky museum dedicated to local history, but containing anything old or of interest to the owners. There's a mock coal mine, a cock fighting room, old jail cells, Titanic memorabilia, taxidermy (and random stuffed animals), etc. The museum is self-guided, and don't be surprised if you have to turn on the lights yourself.
