Directions:
Not recommended during monsoon season (June 15-Sep. 30). I-19 exit 48 (Amado). Drive west 22.5 miles on Arivaca Rd. Once in Arivaca, turn left at the brown highway sign toward Arivaca Lake. Drive a half-mile. Bear left onto Ruby Rd. Drive 11 miles (the last six miles are dirt) into the Coronado National Forest, then turn right onto Ruby Access Rd.

Ghost Town of Ruby

Remote Ruby died as a town in 1941; now it's gated and protected. Ghost town fans regard it as one of the best in Arizona. Also at dusk: swarming bats!
