Just like being in Versailles, France!

Around the corner from the French statues is a wall painted with a mock French business district, good for photo ops (gravel paths even lead up to the doors so you can pretend you're about to step inside)

The town of Versailles is proud of its French heritage (even though its residents pronounce its name Vur-SALES). There are two French-themed statues downtown. One, of a seated painter, is titled, "Monet the Impressionist" and is in the public square. Just to the west, on the southeast corner of West Main and Hwy 185/West Street, is a statue of three cherubic-looking boys and a large wine barrel. The Monet statue was sculpted by Gary Lee Price and dedicated on April 27, 2005.
