A tombstone-like roadside monument marks the first production oil well in the largest oil field in the world.

County Rd 4136, Overton, TX
Directions:
From the intersection of Hwys 42 and 64 in Turnertown, drive east on Hwy 64 for three miles. Turn left at the post office onto CR 4105/Miller Ranch Rd. Drive a little over a mile, through several turns (Follow blue signs for Discovery Well). Turn right onto CR 4136. Drive a half-mile. You'll see the monument and well on the left.
