Mr. Smedley

The statue of a street entertainer who once graced downtown's Grace Street is now enshrined at Jefferson Park in the Union Hill section of town. Sculpted by Jack Witt who also created the sculpture of Mr Bojangles.

[Charlie, 05/23/2015]

Sculpted in 1985, then abandoned in a city storage yard for a decade before reappearing in 2014. Mr. Smedley has a mouse on his head and a cat under his arm, and was sculpted as the embodiment of every kid's imaginary friend.
