Ross, North Dakota: First Mosque in America
On an otherwise empty prairie in North Dakota. Built by Lebanese Syrians in 1929, the small building collapsed in the 1970s. Now a tribute "monument" mosque, equally small, stands in its place, surrounded by the graves of Muslim immigrants.

- From the town of Ross drive east two miles on US Hwy 2. Turn right (south) onto 87th Ave. NW, a dirt road. Drive a half-mile. You'll see the mosque on the right.
