Buffalo, New York: Giant Head of MLK

Eight feet tall, unveiled Oct. 1983. Looks out over a park that bears his name. Sculpted by John Wilson, who was criticized for making a giant Martin Luther King Jr head with zombie eyes that doesn't really look like MLK.
Fillmore Ave., Buffalo, NY
Northeast side of the city. Hwy 33/Kensington Expy exit onto Best St. Drive east a half-mile, then turn left at the stoplight onto Fillmore Ave. Make first right into parking lot. The head is back by the trees, at the semi-circular plaza, and can be difficult to see despite its size.

Giant Head of MLK

Be warned; this is NOT a good likeness of the man! It's a giant, creepy head that makes you feel more like cringing with horror than remembering with reverence.
