Pikeville, North Carolina: Dinosaur Skeleton Sculptures

This place is epic. If you're there during business hours you can buy smaller versions of the dinosaurs and other animals. We were there at dusk before Xmas and they were lit up.

There are five dinosaurs now. The dinosaur statue that was once in downtown Goldsboro has been installed next to the other four at Benton and Sons Stainless Steel. All of them were covered in Christmas lights when I was there in December, and at night they were all lit up for the holidays. They seem to be something of a local attraction. Lots of cars full of moms and dads and kids stopped by when I was there at dusk, just after the lights had come on.

These guys sure do stay busy. There's now a fourth big dinosaur in front of Benton and Sons, plus several dozen smaller ones, three to five feet tall, that are for sale. Most of the smaller ones are scaled-down versions of the big ones.

There are three dinosaurs now and they're definitely worth a stop to take a few photos.
