Hubble's Rubble

Located in a small grass lot, Hubble's Rubble (or Hubbell Rubbell as the sign says) is a collection of sculptures made of scrap metal and old farm equipment. Here a cowboy, a dinosaur, a tin man, a giant insect, and a pig in specs, amongst other creations, co-exist. A variety of modes of transportation -- wagon, motorcycle, boat, etc. -- combine with the rusty but charming faces. As a bonus, it's located next to Toot's Drive In, a small town version of a Dairy Queen that is delightful on its own.

This neat art display is still going strong, as is the restaurant next door. Hubble's Rubble is very fun to walk around and interact with the unique artwork.

Hubbell Rubble

Hubbell Rubble is group of unique and interesting abstract artworks in Howard, right on Highway 99 as it goes through the edge of town. It was noon when I spied the place as I rolled past.

I noticed the mom/pop burger joint next door (Toot's) was doing a VERY brisk business.

Hubbell's Rubble

Hubble's Rubble is a menagerie of sculptures made from farm equipment and other junk. The sculptures include Oz's Tin Man, a huge purple dino, stagecoach, tee-pee, and even Batman, among many others. The Rubble office is an old outhouse filled with news clippings. It has been featured in various travel magazines and news shows.
