Mike Weaver Drain Tile Museum
Just what its name suggests: a collection of drain tiles dating from possibly 1000 B.C.E. to the late 20th century, with tools, explanatory texts, charts, photos, and maps. It is housed in a barn at the historic home of John Johnston, "The Father of Tile Drainage in America."
Mike Weaver, who the museum is named for, literally wrote the book on drain tiles ("History of Tile Drainage"), and this museum will show you why this subject matters to you. I tried for years to get in this place, but kept arriving too late in the day. It was exciting to finally see the museum!
