Eastford, Connecticut: Frog Rock Roadside Park
Big rock painted like a frog since the 1800s. So loved it had its own roadside rest area. Eventually abandoned, but has recently been restored, and the rock has been given a fresh coat of frog paint.

This rest stop on Route 44 has a small antiques shop, food, picnic tables, playground, and, during summer weekends, has live music.
The rock has been painted like a frog since 1881. The rock and surrounding area was vandalized and the frog had to be repainted. They now have security cameras guarding the frog! They take their frog very seriously.
