Town Destroyed By Rambo - Photo Op
There's a plywood cutout of photo op of Rambo in front of the Hope Visitor Info Centre on Water Ave,, about 100 ft. off the old Hwy 1 as you come into town. Pretty much look right from the exact spot in the 1982 First Blood movie where Rambo is first picked up by the sheriff.
[Theresa Schlitt, 10/23/2015]Hope was the production shooting location for the first Rambo movie.
[Peter, 08/02/2015]For six weeks in the Fall of 1981, the little town of Hope became the location film set for Rambo: First Blood (It was supposedly in Washington state). In the movie, Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) single-handedly destroys the unwelcoming town, establishing the archetype of "crazed Vietnam vet" for a generation ("There are no friendly civilians!"). Most of it is an in-your-mind attraction now, although the town does provide a helpful map of notable locations.
