Urbandale, Iowa: Sword in the Stone

Can a worthy king (or queen) be found in a housing subdivision outside Des Moines, Iowa? Thus far, apparently, no.

Eula Drive, Urbandale, IA
West side of town, in a housing subdivision. From US Hwy 6/Hickman Rd turn north at the stoplight onto Patricia Drive. Make the second left onto Beverly Drive, then the first right onto Linda Drive. The stone will be on the left, at the second street corner, at the intersection of Eula Drive. It's hidden in some shrubbery on the corner of Eula Drive and Linda Drive.

Sword in Stone.

Sword in the Stone

Sitting on the corner of two residential streets, partially hidden under an evergreen tree, is the sword in the stone. Neighbors say it has been there for many years. The sword is heavy metal, the rock is granite, and we were not able to remove the sword. Where is King Arthur?
