Demetrio Braceros worked as a gardener at the park for 20 years, creating over 375 figurines, statues, and totems carved out of wood. It is a magical world, with paths into the garden, each containing carvings to be discovered.
Braceros came to the park in 1986 with a mission to change the area, a small park tucked near a freeway and BART, and asked himself how he could help. The park has become a beloved place, with the art, a playground, and neighborhood visitors.
