Great place to visit. More there than the propeller.
[Bill Debevc, 01/07/2023]
The new Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway center has a computer controlled, state-of-the art building that is so sophisticated it requires its own weather station. A circular plaza contains seven metal rays projected outward representing the seven Paiute Indian Tribes, collectively known as the Nuwuvi.
There's also a memorial to the Silent Heroes of the Cold War containing a granite monument and a propeller from a military aircraft en route to Area 51 that crashed into Mt. Charleston while supporting the top-secret U-2 spy plane missions.
