The statue was carved from a cypress log in 1999 by the late Willie Logan. It's a representation of the 23rd Psalm ("The Good Shepherd"), which was the favorite Bible passage of Pearlie Mae Williamson. Her son, Johnny Williamson, came up with the idea as a tribute to his deceased mother.
