On top of Jess and Jim's, a historic barbecue joint in a small suburb of KC, sits a large brown cow that has been there for years. The building used to be a dry goods store with a roller rink upstairs. Many years after the store closed its doors, the present-day owner purchased it as a fixer-upper and turned it into a flamboyantly colorful barbecue joint. He purchased the fiberglass cow from an auction in Oklahoma City, and had it placed on top of the building with the help of a crane. It's been there ever since, and is repainted every couple of months.
