Pearce, Arizona: Grave of Johnny Ringo
Famous Wild West outlaw was found dead in 1882 propped against a tree, shot through the head. He is buried where he fell. The tree lived until 2010.

- Directions:
- I-10 exit 331. Drive south on US Hwy 191 for 29 miles. Turn left at the electric substation onto Hwy 181. Drive 12 miles. As the road veers left, continue strait onto Turkey Creek Rd. Drive about five miles. The road will bend right, then left, and then you'll immediately see the pull-off for the grave on the left. There's a gate with directions for the short walk to the grave, which is marked with a monument.

Talk about off the beaten path. You drive several miles down a dirt road and stumble upon it (on your left) with a sign stating "RINGO's grave site." The weeds were tall as you walk through the gate and down to the site. It's on private property, so best to get there, snap a photo and get on your way. Hours: 8am-6pm
