Coffeyville, Kansas: Dalton Gang Grave
In Oct. 1892 the Dalton Gang tried to rob two Coffeyville banks. Three of the gang ended up in "Death Alley," and then here.

- Directions:
- Elmwood Cemetery. South edge of town. From the downtown junction of US Hwys 169 and 166 at 11th St., drive south on US Hwy 169 for about one mile. Turn right at the house with the green roof (there's also a little Dalton Grave sign) onto Eldridge St. Cross the train tracks, turn right onto Elmwood Drive, then turn right into the cemetery. Drive all the way to the back. The road bends sharply right and follows the train tracks. After a couple hundred feet you'll see a set of three signs at the Dalton Gang grave.

The three outlaws were killed on Oct. 5, 1892, when they tried to rob two Coffeyville banks. They were buried in a back corner of the town cemetery. Their only marker was the hitching rail where their horses were tied in "Death Alley." A simple headstone was added 15 years later.
