For over 50 years pumpkin farmer Nick Venetucci gave schoolchildren free pumpkins for Halloween. The sculpture depicts him in his pumpkin patch, giving away his crop to happy kids.

The statue of the Pumpkin Man is on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum. There are several other statues on the grounds as well.
