There's a replica of the famous Las Vegas sign at the Steak N' Egger restaurant. The owner put it up in 2013 to draw attention to the area's Route 66 heritage, and also to attract tourists.
McCook is a town of about 200 people on the Chicago ridge, and it's 95% industrial. I wouldn't say it's all that fabulous of a place, but it has its special charm. The restaurant makes really good grilled cheese!
