Country music's legendary Man in Black was born in Kingsland on February 26, 1932.

Johnny Cash Memorial

Kingsland is the birthplace of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Kingsland built a small memorial to their famous son in town. While visiting, don't miss the small Cash collection inside the post office just a block away. The memorial is available 24/7, but the post office is only open during normal business hours.

Cash lived in Kingsland until he was three. The home-made memorial was the town's 1976 U.S. Bicentennial project.
