Wilson, Kansas: World's Largest Hand-Painted Czech Egg
The "Czech Capital of Kansas" features a giant egg -- at 22 feet long, it's America's largest. Arrived in 2012, painted in April 2015, mounted upright under gazebo in July 2016.

A really awesome experience. I definitely recommend walking through town to see the smaller Czech eggs. While on your walk you can visit the old Wilson Jail, find a working telephone booth, and take a selfie at the Czech selfie mural. It's a quaint little town with so much history, and it's clear that the town is proud of it!

The World's Largest Hand-Painted Czech Egg was bigger than expected. The town also has smaller eggs on street corners.

After visiting the Egg, don't forget to drive through the town and see the baby eggs, the working pay phone booth, and interesting buildings.

We were able to stop here and look around and learn a lot about the culture. There are several information panels about Czech culture, the egg, and its creation.
Just down the road are several smaller eggs, painted differently, in front of various businesses. There is a good restaurant as well, but we were there on a Monday, when it was closed.

This is the Czech capital of Kansas. It is well worth the stop. There is a Czech Festival every year at the end of July. The hotel nearby is very charming and the food at Made From Scratch was amazing. This is well worth the stop.
