The 15 bucks for the tour isn't bad and the money goes to preservation. There is a small parking lot next to town's former general store -- the "bakery" from the Hunger Games movie (just the first movie, District 12). You can also walk around Katniss' house. They have renovated a few of the homes and are currently renting them out as BnB-style rooms. I had a great time and the guides were very knowledgeable and humorous. It's definitely worth the visit if you are in the area, or if you are looking to see something different. There are many hidden underground tunnels on the property, too.

This is an interesting and easy-access site, but it's beginning to show wear from vandals. My wife and kids went there in April 2015, then my wife and I went December 2015, and the photos we took show lots of graffiti. We drove around the site, walked a bit, and took photos. It had just rained and the dam was overflowing, Katniss would never have gotten across. While we were there a cop drove through, I guess just checking on us, but he never said anything and did not indicate we needed to leave.
