A large pirate statue was recently erected in the backyard of a home in Kill Devil Hills. It can be found off of 5th Street, down one of the courts. It can be seen from 5th Street towering over the houses.
The figure was originally produced as a pirate for an Outer Banks business. It formally stood at Forbes Minature Golf in Nags Head for 30 some years.
